Superman

1. Superman first appeared in Action Comics #1 created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.
2. Superman goes by the alter ego Clark Kent and was born on another planet called Krypton under the name Kal-El, which is what gives him his super abilities.
3. Superman’s primary love interest is Lois Lane, a co-worker of his at the Daily Planet.
4. Some of Superman’s most notable enemies are Bizarro; Brainiac; Darkseid; Doomsday; General Zod; and of course Lex Luthor.
5. Superman’s abilities include Superhuman strength, speed, senses, endurance, and logevity; flight; heat vision; freezing breath; extrasensory and visual powers including X-ray.
6. IGN, Imagine Games Network, labeled Superman as the greatest comic book hero and pointed him out as the blueprint for the superheroes we know and love today.
7. In 1992 Superman died at the hands of Doomsday in which both landed fatal blows simultaneously.
8. Weeks later Kal-El was revived and took back up the mantle of Superman.
9. Superman was one of the founding members of the Justice League of America, a team of superheroes from across the DC Comics universe.
