Spider-Man

  1. Spider-Man was created by writer-editor Stan Lee and writer-artist Steve Ditko and first appeared in Amazing Fantasy #15 in Aug. 1962.
  2. Peter Parker received his spider abilities by being bit by a radioactive spider that was being experimented on.
  3. The abilities the radioactive spider gave Peter Parker are Superhuman strength and agility, ability to cling to most surfaces, and precognitive spider-sense. Peter is also a genius-level intellect and designed and uses his own spider-webbing and shooters.
  4. Spider-Man has experienced great loss with the death of his uncle/father-figure Ben at the hands of a mugger and his serious girlfriend Gwen Stacy dies from the whiplash of spiderman’s web as he tries to save her from the Green Goblin.
  5. Some of Spider-Man’s most notorious enemies form a group called the Sinister Six: Doctor Octopus; Vulture; Electro; Kraven the Hunter; Mysterio; and Sandman.
  6. In July of 1987 Peter Parker married Mary Jane Watson in The Amazing Spider-Man #290. But later this whole storyline was erased from continuity by a demon named Mephisto in the One More Day storyline.
  7. From 1984 to 1988 Spider-Man no longer wore his traditional Blue and Red costume but instead wore a Black suite with a White spider symbol that he received on an alien planet. It was later revealed that this suit was actually an alien parasite that had attached itself to Parker and now exists as the enemy Venom.
  8. While in college Peter Parker is cloned by his college professor Miles Warren in Amazing Spider-Man #149. This clone, Ben Reilly becomes the spider entity known as the Scarlet Spider.
  9. Even though Spider-Man exists with all other Marvel superheroes in the comic books the cinema rights actually belong to Sony. Recently Sony and Marvel Cinema partnered to work together to bring Peter Parker to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
  10. Under the Spider-Man hood is normally Peter Parker but other Spider-Man personalities also exist like: Miles Morales as Ultimate Spider-Man, Peter Porker as Spider-Ham, Miguel O’Hara as Spider-Man 2099, and Doc Oc in Peter Parker’s body as Superior Spider-Man.
